Before you are told what the first step is that you should take to up the IQ level of your child, it is essential that you first know what these different terms mean and imply. Rearing up a child is very difficult, since what you do in your life around them will automatically have an impact on their thoughts as well. And you will not even be conscious of it! Consider this situation: a mother used to judge her figure every day in the mirror and she would often crunch up her face to disgustingly exclaim, " I am fat". However, the reflection would reveal otherwise. Her daughters used to see her behave in such a manner for a long time, and when they grew up to have comely and well-balanced figure, they would still consider themselves to be fat. This example only states how the mind of your child actually acts like a sponge. They soak up everything around them, and this is all because of their cognitive abilities.

Since the children pick up habits from around them, you will have to make sure that the environment that your children are growing up in is extremely stimulating and clean. What this implies is that your child should grow up in a healthy atmosphere, and there should be enough stimulants to rouse up their excitements and interest to make them ask "Why?"

Now, you know that all children ask this question just as the priest recites from the Bible, and most of the time the objects in question are actually difficult to explain. It is not impossible to find a child who asks," Why is the grass green?", or maybe something as weird as this- "why are your eyes smaller than your nose?" How do you answer such questions? Whatever you do, make sure you never express your frustration. Never cut them off while they are asking, and never discourage them from being interested in anything.

In order to brush up their intelligence, you need to realize the one little trick: Practice makes Perfect. You have to engage your child in logical operations. This means that you will have to engage your child mentally in the problem solving methods. This means that you should constantly offer challenges to your children and allow them to come up with their own solutions. For example, if your children try their skill at simple math like adding, never tap your impatient feet while they are at it. Never egg them on irritably and bring the cat out of the bag before they had their chance. Do not kill the fun because you were running out of time. Your children need all of your attention, and therefore you must be patient. You can lay down some hints so as to guide them when they are lost. But they must be ones who should come up with the answers. Moreover, you need to understand how the minds of your children work so as to be capable of handling them with proper care. The thing you should avoid is confusing them even further and addling their brains!

Your children generally rely on transductive reasoning. This means that your children will apply the same rules and causes to explain different phenomenon. For example, when you explain to your children that a dog is a dog because it has a tail, four legs on which it walks, and it barks at people, the children might apply the same rules to define a cat as well. The fact that a cat meows but never barks is not enough to consider it as different from a dog. The realization of such differences settle in their minds as they grow up, but you can certainly try to make them aware of such tiny details from a very young age. If your children are already old, you still have no need to worry. This is because they will still have to rely on their sense of judgment to assess things, and for that you will have to encourage them. See them through their decisions; if they are wrong, tell them so but never lose your temper. Treat your kids like adults in such cases. Always reward their right choices with positive ramifications, and do not scold or beat them if they are wrong.
