Culture creates geniuses
If you want your child's intelligence homed then try exposing them to arts and culture. The interesting experiences offered by music, theatre dance and the visual arts can help refine and sharpen young minds. The increased reference levels created by exposure to the arts also significantly contribute to the likelihood of a child doing really well on an IQ test. A major university study of over 25,000 students with varied cultural backgrounds revealed that active participation in the arts such as music, drama and dance significantly increased their ability to do very well academically. Studies have also shown that children from low income or deprived families and children who live in inner city areas such as ghettos tend to do particularly well when it comes to enhancing their IQ scores through the exposure to the arts. In fact the evidence that people from deprived background can do so well academically after exposure to cultural events kind of proves how useless and inaccurate an IQ test can be when incomes to determining intelligence in the first place. It basically proves how unfair it is to ignore the importance of social background when determining an individual's intelligence level. It is one thing to expose a child to the arts but it is even better to have them actually participate by playing in a school band or acting in a school play. This type of activity ones memory and performance skills to the extent that it could increase confidence in a child. A child that is not nervous about being tested or performing in public is more likely to do well under pressure. They are lasso more like to have the confidence to do well on an IQ test. Sometimes a child does not have the opportunity to play an active part in something artistic in which case trips to museums or galleries can be inspirations. It is key in that situation to take them to a place where they have near been before so that their imagination is stimulated. Any type of new experience that takes them outside the boundaries of their current limited or poverty stricken experience introduces them to the diversities of life and opens up the mind. Culture is important as it is one way to introduce that child to places and experiences and things that stimulates their curiosity and motivates them to strive beyond their current level of boredom.
