Free Kids' IQ

While it's definitely true that some of the very best things in life are indeed free, that may not necessarily be the case when it comes to IQ tests for your kids. But what are IQ tests exactly, and why are they so important and talked about?

The term IQ comes from the German phrase intelligenz-quotient, which was first coined not long after the turn of the 20th century by a psychologist named William Stern who proposed that one's intelligence could be distinctly measured through a series of questions.

Initially, an IQ was scored by using a child's chronological age as well as their mental age, as determined by the test, and then multiplying the result by 100. But now, researchers and experts agree that there's far more to measuring one's intelligence and acknowledge that some people just don't do well on tests of any kind but may still be regarded as being smart.

Every parent wants to know how well they can expect their child to do in school and throughout life and many rely on the results from intelligence quotient tests to help them determine just that. However, it's incredibly important to remember that IQ tests are not infallible and that many argue their validity, especially when it comes to free kid's IQ tests.

Today, literally hundreds upon hundreds of free tests can be found online, although some of them may not be as "free" as they first appear. Some sites require that a fee be paid before the results are revealed or only provide half of questions for the test for free and others provide no type of certified scores.

Besides many colleges and universities, a number of high IQ societies such as Mensa requires that members score above a certain number before they're eligible for admission into the club, and having a certified test score will enable one to submit their score for consideration.

While not foolproof, IQ tests are still able to give parents the edge they need to help their children be as successful as possible, and paying a reasonable fee for taking a test with certified, reliable results can be well worth the money spent.
